Storage for Accesories

So the whole time I thought this was already publicized. Really? Not that this blog is active. Not that anyone visits. Not that it matters. But really?! Anyway, here are a few ways to organize stuff. If you are a collector like me, you probably have problems in storing trinkets. Organizers also need not be expensive. I have here an old bag and a chocolate box for my sewing kit and my earring collection. Ah yes!

Tumblr Disclaimer

I struggle not to put up disclaimers because oftentimes I apologize about everything, feel guilty of things I’m not and put up defenses for innocent bystanders. But because it’s my birthday month I’ll give in to the constant impulse!

First, there is a Tumblr feature that allows you to queue posts meaning I’m not necessarily there when posts are published. I can post a lot without signing in on Facebook (I hate it when people don’t believe me I say I haven’t gone online for over a week citing my post the day before). Two, I feel awkward most of the time so don’t take it personal if I don’t reply to your message (This is applicable to all social networking sites). I actually “compose” messages, replies and status updates regularly and then delete them. Oftentimes I’m paranoid of being offensive, condescending, sounding unrealistically happy (or the exact opposite) because I have those tendencies. Third, of course these echo insecurities but so what. As of the moment, this setup works for me so I don’t see why it should matter. I’ve never felt this stable and I intend to keep it that way.

This is how my excerpt blog looks like. yay!spont

U3ntitled-2

I post one each day (more or less). I aim to alternate photos and text to avoid monotony (but it’s still boring).

I said “you can find no reblogs here” but I don’t really have anything against reblogs. In fact I would want one if I find time. I am simply stating the posts are mine even if they are not dated, signed, watermarked and etc.

One can easily miss links I put up on Tumblr on Facebook. (so mostly, I waste time)

Moving on, posts up on my Tumblr are original unless otherwise stated. I make use of it as an excerpt blog. With that I mean a kind of channel where I can bring together random items posted on my blogs. An excerpt can be a photo, a link or a snippet depending on my mood. Few actually mind, follow the link or read what’s posted (I know so) but I like it, really I do.

I get to look at the archives too. Nice!

In other news, I was informed by WordPress that I’ve published my 150th post (a feature that I happen to love) on Go Grab Grub, my food blog. Checking out the general status of my blog, I was reminded that it was launched in June of 2010 meaning I’ve been at it for 3 years (not my longest I know but oh how time flies!). 150 still is something considering I have other blogs. A toast!

100 Beers! 100 Cheers!

Yes it is official. I have tasted at least 100 different beers. There was a time when I started to think that maybe I won’t make it to 100 before 2012 (maybe around beer #65 or so because I ran out of cheap bottles to get and I did not have cash to spare) but yes 2011 has definitely been a grand beer fest.

Once upon a time, I hated beer because my mission every time I drink is to get drunk. With beer, you will feel bloated long before getting tipsy. Those were the days when I could down 12 shots of tequila and the gig has not even started. Then, I thought gin bilog is the easiest and not to mention the cheapest way to get hit. Fast forward to the days that I consider myself sober, I tried beer again and looked at it in a different light, or tasted it differently rather. For me, beer is something you can drink with food. It is something you can order along with a glass of soda. Phil and I take swigs of cola and beer alternately when we’re having a hearty meal. It is also a very good ending much like dessert. Beer is something people can appreciate when taken in moderation so if you like drinking cases and cases then you probably shouldn’t bother looking for beer brands because you know that it won’t matter. If you really want to get drunk, drink gin with calamansi doon sa kanto.

The idea of drinking a hundred beers came to me when we saw a restaurant with a sign that read “wide selection of international beers”. It got me curious. When I saw their selection, we, apparently, have tried most of what they have and missed about 3 or 4 brands. I ordered those four and it got me thinking. Since I already tried a lot maybe it’d be good to try more and you know that figure, 100, is just like a magic number or is that a hundred and one? Well, anyway it just popped into my head.

It is actually easy to achieve drinking a hundred beers considering there are a number of joints that offer fancy beers these days. Mine was not as easy because I tried to get them where they sell them cheap. Some of those shops include supermarkets like Rustan’s, Landmark, Shopwise, S&R and Robinson’s Supermarket. I believe those were the cheapest we got. We bought a few from 7-eleven too. Others I drank from restaurants such as Old Swiss Inn, Borough and Freska. I picked up bottles from B-side and Gourdo’s. You can also get them from liquor shops and it is as cheap as the ones we bought from supermarkets. And finally, the most expensive and the last few beers we had, I got from Eastwood’s Distillery.

Nothing is really achieved. Just think about calories (not that I was ever serious about going on a diet)! The feat doesn’t really make you a connoisseur. Mainly I will brag because I love lists and I love collections but that’s about it. It’s just one of those stupid goals that would make me feel like I am doing something worthwhile in this mad world.

Now, more than ever… Cheers!!!

(*Originally posted on my food blog I’ve decided it’s more fitting here. The post was dated Septemeber 20, 2011but beer No. 100 was downed on December 31st 2011 (Yes New Year’s eve!).

Rubber Stamps

There there now, no need to be jealous of my stamping implements. haha.

I’ve been hoarding random craft items in the hopes of using them in the future. Sadly this is the first time I actually got these off their packages. I tried them out with my 5-year old nephew. I don’t think we came up with something that will get exhibited in the future but at least I know I made a kid happy. We used watercolor as I know using ink would be a bad idea for kids. I’m still missing a few and will upload as soon as I un-bury them in the cabinet. Maybe I’ll put up how it looks on paper. Grand! h TotalCollage_H66ZU-JG1RS

Blogs Collected (Hypergraphia)

It’s not only trinkets I hoard, I have 7 blogs! There I admitted it, you happy now?! While I feel happy about writing all the time, having more than one blog makes me feel guilty (and a little cuckoo). I have this love-hate relationship with blogging. I am more than grateful of the space where I leave my thoughts (and feelings) but somehow also feel vulnerable to scrutiny (which is why I don’t publicize openly).Screenshot_2013-06-28-13-28-14

Why do I have a lot? Hmmm… I blame it on WordPress because of this little thing here…

Screenshot_2013-06-28-13-29-01

That’s right. Not the part which says “here’s an overview of your blogs”. The second part which says don’t forget that you can create another blog anytime. and so I did! Whenever I felt like a thought did not belong to a certain blog, I make another. WordPress you cheat!

Seriously though, it’s quite practical for someone as “confused” as me. My interests, hobbies and mood swings are so expansive that rolling it into one blog does not seem “right”. Besides, I don’t want it to be like that blog I came across not too long ago.I instantly fell in love with the author’s take on cooking so I read the next post which happened to be a very passionate post about having sex with her boyfriend. Erotica?! (deserves a trophy if you ask me)!

And so I really love this setup. I have one for dining out, another for lifestyles, another for poledancing, another for vegan recipes, another for crafts, another for collections and another for miscellaneous text. And all of these I try to summarize into excerpts on my Tumblr. I suppose you can call it an addiction. After all I write at work too and this blogging world of mine has nothing to do with work.

Curious Puchase from Escolta Market

Even my cat is curious, it must be a steal!

Here I try to take pictures of the embroidery. I doubt if it is handmade but close enough.

It was enough that it was in working condition (not that I am planning to use it). But the big surprise was the fact that it can fit inside my bag

Isn’t it pretty? I shall post my collection of all things vintage and nostalgic (whether or not they’re real antiques). Sigh.

Check out my Escolta Market post up at my lifestyles blog. weeee!

Prints & Patterns: Bags etc.

So dusty in here! I am so so relieved to finally put something up on these pages!

Here is a sampling of stuff that spells I can be sweet too! The dark times sure is over. I used to have a lot of leather and detail to me meant a combination of a lot of hardware. Rivets, studs and even spikes (WTF) were something that looked attractive for “young rebels”.

Nowadays, black is too impractical because of the weather. I’ve outgrown accessories and rarely wear shit. and while I still like leather and plain stuff, I have a number of pretty and flowery collectibles which I use almost everyday.

  • my coin purse (originally a contact lens holder)
  • where I put adapter for my tablet, adapter for my mobile phone, earphones and other stuff I often misplace. hahaha!
  • my notebook which also holds my planner and yep, it has an attached case where I put my pen, markers and wiper.
  • a detailed purse from Cebu (a pasalubong from Honks)
  • my laptop bag (which made me look forward to attending meetings!)
  • And finally, my red, bold and fancy wallet replacing the green, bright and whimsical one (let me find a photo of that).

Launching Weaponry!

Out with it! This is one of my inactive blogs, I admit, with the previous post dated June 20, 2012 and the one before that dated November 2, 2011. But really this inactivity does not make this blog less significant than others I have. For the first month I wanted to have a new post on each of my blogs to get things moving you know. This is that kickstarter for this blog.

A plastic drawer organizer, this nifty item here was a gift from my aunt, Mommy Cherry. She bought it in Singapore and she said she remembered me when she saw it. Instead of just buying for herself, she got two so she can give me the other. She used hers for makeup and I didn’t think that I have enough make-up to fill every compartment. Soon I realized that it was perfect for my collection of art goodies. I’m hoping to take photos of most if not all of my collection of art materials. For now, this photo will do.

Elements of Bahay-bahayan

The idea for this post came to me when I was thinking about what gifts to give kids last season. I was looking at Sikhay’s toys and was fascinated that he had so many unique pieces. When I say unique, it’s not always expensive. You can have a rare piece by putting a lot of effort into it or simply by being creative. When I say creative, I mean toys are not only found in toy shops. You following?

A mini walis tambo whether or not it is the colorful type is something a child would want to have. So go on let the kid do some housework.

The “takure” is a tea pot Karla bought from a second hand Japanese store. It is small enough for Sikhay’s stove so it looks quite realistic. You should see how Sikhay holds the cover when he pours water, imaginary or not. It’s rather entertaining. The potholder is a cheat because it came free with Sikhay’s kitchen showcase. When I say cheat I mean we didn’t go through much trouble acquiring it so it’s not very cool. still, it is cute!

Ah! The mini gasul of course is my gift. I got it from one of the tiangges we visited during Christmas season. It is actually a piggy bank. I bought it for 100 pesos and I thought it was the best gift Sikhay got that Christmas. The mini coffee grinder is supposedly for my display but Sikhay got curious and got it for his kitchen. It’s really a toy so I didn’t see any problems with that.

The mini palayok set is mine and was intended for display alone. I bought it in Vigan. Priced at 50 pesos if I am not mistaken. I’m pleased that the set is still complete despite the fact that Sikhay has been playing with it on and off (I believe though one has a chip). The measuring cup is another cheat as it came with the kitchen showcase that my dad gave Sikhay on his 3rd birthday. It’s a nice touch.

The mini basket is a recent addition. Ma came home from Sariaya one day with a big basket for us and a small one for Sikhay. It’s great when your kid goes to the palengke. hurray! Sikhay owns a mini shopping cart but a basket is 100% more charming than that. I just remembered that he also has a mini bayong care of mama too. Lucky kid!

tumblr_mr3ivtsy611qb5afio1_500

What else would you need a basket and a cart for if you do not have food items? This photo here has fruits, vegetables and bread but there are many others. I got the set of bread way before Sikhay was born because I am also a toy addict. As for the fruits and vegetables I am not sure who gave it to him. I believe he has also some “canned goods”, condiments, cereal boxes and most recently I got him burgers which look like the real thing! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did. I first worked on it two years ago. hahaha! Boy am I glad it’s done!
